Salsa music is not limited to one country, one city, or one scene. Just like salsa dancing, the music has traveled and evolved wherever musicians have embraced the rhythm and made it part of their own culture.

This episode looks beyond the places most dancers first associate with salsa music. Instead of staying only with Puerto Rico, New York, or the better-known U.S. markets, it highlights artists from other parts of the world who prove that salsa is truly international.

That is useful for dancers because broad listening creates better musical taste. The more scenes, bands, and arrangements you hear, the easier it becomes to recognize what stays constant in salsa and what changes from one interpretation to another.
